Lily Kettle

Irish violinist Lily Kettle is a current scholar at the Royal College of Music London, studying a Masters in Performance with Prof. Detlef Hahn. Lily is an avid orchestral and chamber musician and was previously appointed concertmaster of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland.  Since then, Lily has performed as part of the Hundisburg Festival Orchestra, Covent Garden Sinfonia, Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra and the Wiener Jeunesse Orchester Vienna. She has performed in side-by-side projects with the Royal Concertgebouw, New York Philharmonic and the Birmingham Royal Ballet Sinfonia.  In 2019, Lily was appointed first violin with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra as part of their orchestral training scheme. 

Lily has been mentored by a number of notable violinists including, Monica Huggett, Olivier Charlier, Tobias Granmo, Daniel Rowland and Jack Liebeck.  Lily also shows a strong passion for music pedagogy and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Teaching and Performance at Trinity College Dublin in 2017.  She has been involved in an array of community outreach organisations and projects across the UK and Ireland and is a current violin tutor with Birmingham based LEAP Ensemble.  LEAP work in partnership with various schools and community organisations to deliver a range of opportunities to aspiring young musicians from a variety of backgrounds.
