Having concluded his studies with Professor Gregor Horsch at the Robert Schumann Hochschule and Hannah Roberts at the Royal Northern College of Music, David Edmonds has enjoyed a successful and varied career as chamber musician, orchestral musician and soloist.

For ten years, David was a member of the Rhodes Piano Trio, 2nd prize winners in the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition 2011. Represented by YCAT, the Rhodes Trio were recipients to all of the Royal Northern College of Music chamber music prizes as well as the Tunnell Trust for Young Musicians and the Elias Fawcett Award at the Royal Overseas League Competition. In their final year, they performed at Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, Barbican, Melbourne Recital Centre, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music Singapore and at the Schwetzinger, Aix-en-Prevence and Verbier Festivals. They also gave live performances on BBC Radio 3, SWR2 Germany, on ABC Classic FM Australia and released their CD recording of Schumann Piano Trios on Champs Hill Records to critical acclaim.

Enjoying success as a chamber musician, David has received several invitations to IMS Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music, played a recital in the Concertgebouw Kleine Zaal and appeared at the Aix-en-Prevence festival performing Saint-Saens 2nd Cello Concerto with the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq and Orchestre Francais des Jeunes. Earlier this year he performed the Brahms Double Concerto with Thomas Jackson in the Ulster Hall.

Following his academy position with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, he has played in a number of professional orchestras in London both as a section player and principal. David joined the Ulster Orchestra in May 2015.
