We are delighted to present the 13th Chamber Music on Valentia Festival between 13th and 16th August 2026 for an exciting array of performances by a stellar international line up on Valentia Island.
Have any questions about how things will run this year? Take a look at our FAQs to see if we can answer your question:
What time does an event finish?
All of our events have an estimated finish time, so please visit an event page to find out more.
What sort of music do you perform?
We perform and showcase all sorts of music. From J. S. Bach to John Field, W. A. Mozart to Maurice Ravel, Kerry polkas to American blues, Irish trad to Chinese folk, unknown composers from across the world to the most exciting living composers from Ireland.
We perform chamber music – music written for small ensembles of instrumentalists and singers. Traditionally, chamber music was intended for intimate spaces, with each part usually performed by a single musician and without a conductor. Our performances can include a wide range of combinations, from strings and wind instruments to piano and voice. More information about chamber music can be found here: https://www.britannica.com/art/chamber-music
What is your refund policy?
If you sadly are no longer able to make an event, you are able to refund a purchased ticket up to 2-weeks prior to the event start time/date (minus administrative fees). After this point, we are unable to offer refunds.
If you have booked a space for a free event, you are able to cancel your place through the link on your email confirmation.
What if I am running late to an event?
We endeavour to start our events at the start time listed, however we know that life sometimes gets in the way of you arriving for the start time.
If you are running late, we do have a latecomer policy where you can enter the event on applause only. This way you will not need to miss too much of the world-class music-making.
Does the Festival Pass cover all the events?
Our Festival Pass is a great way to save money if you want to come to several events. The Festival Pass is applicable for all of our ticketed events, with the exception of the Family Concert.
Do I need to book a ticket in advance?
Although there are usually a few tickets available to purchase on the door, it is always advised to book in advance as some of our events sell-out!
The only event that tickets are not required is our popular FREE Musical Map events.
How can I support the festival?
Chamber Music on Valentia is most grateful to our Friends and Supporters who, through their contributions, help us to continue and develop our work in this Festival.
We would like to invite additional friends to help support the festival this year and help us to plan for 2026.
Supporting Chamber Music on Valentia will develop an association with an already popular and rapidly emerging event with real creative potential in this special region and on this special island. It builds on the history and pride of place that continues to attract world-class innovations and the people who make them happen.
