As part of our 13th festival, we have FIVE masterclass, performance, and professional opportunies for YOU to get involved in this season.

Document Dvořák: Call for Videographers

To celebrate Ireland’s EU Presidency and Kerry’s twinning with Czechia, we are seeking an emerging videographer or filmmaker to create a short film documenting rehearsals and performances of three works by Antonín Dvořák: the ‘American’ String QuartetPiano Quintet, and Silent Woods for cello and piano, set against the unique backdrop of South Kerry.

This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring documentary makers and filmmakers to develop their portfolio while working alongside professional musicians. A financial award is attached to this opportunity.

Learning on Valentia: Masterclass with Festival Artists

During the Festival weekend, there will be opportunities for violin, cello, and clarinet players to participate in masterclasses with Festival Artists and receive expert feedback in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Can you compose?

Have you ever wanted to try composing music? Our Composers-in-Residence, Amy Rooney and Murrough Connolly, will lead a series of supportive and creative workshops designed to help participants explore their potential as composers.

There are two groups available: one for participants aged 15–18 and one for adults. No prior compositional experience is required.

Celebration of Kerry: Showcase your talent

Now in its third year, our Celebration of Kerry concert showcases the breadth and diversity of musical talent across the county. We invite performers of all ages and musical genres to take part in this special event on the Saturday evening of our 13th festival.

Young Artist Side-by-Side

We are seeking up to two outstanding young violinists to join Festival Artists in our Finale Concert, performing works including Grieg’s Holberg Suite and Holst’s St Paul’s Suite.

This paid opportunity is open to postgraduate students and recent graduates who are looking to gain professional performance experience alongside leading chamber musicians. Successful applicants will be required to attend rehearsals and performances on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August 2026.
