This season will include a workshop with Tunde Jegede on the West African Kora, a specially commissioned installation by Kerry creators, and music for violin and electronics by Kerry composer, Seán Ó Dálaigh.

When? 4.00pm – 4.30pm & 4.30pm – 5.00pm at The Cable Station
This year’s commissioned installation A Fisherman’s Journey comes from Kerry musicians Joseph Fitzgibbon and Aiden Hill and will be performed twice at 4.00pm and 4.30pm.
“A Fisherman’s Journey” is an emotional performance, using a mix of electronic music, visuals, and live performance to depict the life and emotional journey of a fisherman. The music, accompanied by visuals, tells the story of a fisherman’s life: from his departure, to the successful catch, his life at sea, his reflection on life at home, and his return to land. Through this immersive audiovisual experience, “A Fisherman’s Journey” aims to connect the audience with the timeless story of those who make their living from the sea, exploring themes of human resilience, the power of nature, and the emotional complexities of a life divided between land and sea. This hybrid performance blends live and electronic elements to create a compelling narrative.
