One of Britain’s most exciting oboists, Janey Miller is committed to developing the oboe repertoire and has been involved in commissioning and performing over 80 new works, founding the duo New Noise with percussionist Joby Burgess in 1999.
Janey has given recital and concerto performances throughout the UK and Europe and regularly features on BBC Radio 3. Janey’s current release is Frozen River Flows on the Oboe Classics label.

Janey works regularly as a session musician and can be heard on numerous TV and film scores, including Les Miserables, Alice through the Looking Glass, Interstellar, The Hobbit and Dr Who.

As an orchestral player, Janey is the oboist with the Heritage Orchestra and has guested with orchestras including the RLPO, Britten Sinfonia, BBC NOW, RPO and Camerata Ireland. Chamber work includes Elision, Lontano, ECAT and 10:10.

Janey teaches at Junior TCM and is a Senior Lecturer at LCoM. She lectures teaching skills at the GSMD and is a regular festival adjudicator.
