Chia-Yin Hung is a Taiwanese musician and ethnomusicology researcher based in London. Specialising in the qin (seven-string zither) and pipa (four-string lute), she bridges traditional Chinese music and contemporary expression through both performance and academic research.

She holds Master’s degrees in Ethnomusicology from National Taiwan Normal University and SOAS University of London, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Musicology at Royal Holloway, University of London. With over 15 years of teaching and performing experience, Chia-Yin currently tutors at the London Youlan Qin Society and has appeared on international stages. Her research explores Taiwanese Indigenous music, traditional performing arts, and the intersections of music, identity, and gender.
