Tonight’s concert brings together oboe and strings in two of the most popular works for oboe quartet. Sylvia O’Brien joins forces for evocative settings of Folk Songs by Britten as well as Mozart’s l’amero for voice, violin and piano. Rhona Clarke’s Gleann Dá Loch is inspired by that particular place. To conclude, Ernest J. Moeran’s Piano Trio which is a glorious and optimistic work of his from the 1920s, before he came to live in Ireland full time.
